Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 7 September 2026

1. Our Commitment

StartGiving is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

2. What We Do

  • Use semantic HTML and ARIA attributes to support screen readers and assistive technologies.
  • Ensure sufficient colour contrast across the platform, including dark mode.
  • Provide keyboard navigation for all interactive elements, including the donation checkout flow.
  • Use clear, readable typography with a minimum text size of 14px.
  • Ensure forms include visible labels and meaningful error messages.
  • Provide text alternatives for images and icons.

3. Known Limitations

While we strive for full compliance, some areas may have limitations:

  • Third-party payment forms rendered by Stripe are subject to Stripe’s own accessibility standards.
  • Some older campaign images uploaded by charity partners may lack descriptive alt text.

We are actively working to address known issues and improve accessibility across the platform.

4. Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at accessibility@startgiving.com. We take all feedback seriously and aim to respond within 5 working days.

5. Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS).
